Our favorite tips for making traveling easier...

Sometimes just sitting down for a minute or two can give you new energy. Consider carrying this very lightweight cane/seat.

The new orthodics offer style with guaranteed comfort.

Simple, cross body, bag with only two compartments.

CAN YOU LIVE WITH WEARING THE SAME CLOTHES OVER & OVER?

My suitcase for a 3 week European trip:

3 pairs of pants: 2 black; one in another color. Wear one pair travelling.

A lightweight raincoat or one of those ponchos that fit in a tiny pouch.

A blazer type jacket, preferably inlined, that can be paired with a lightweight..

Sweater if needed.

2 Scarves will create different looks, style, and warmth.

2 pairs of shoes. Wear one… you no longer have to wear clunky sneakers for comfort. There are a lot of alternatives. I recommend orthoheels, available on QVC and other outlets. Last year I wore just one pair of Mary Jane orthoheels every day, rain and shine,  with great success.

Your pocketbook. I don’t favor the ones with lots of zippers. Too confusing. My favorite travel bag is a crossbody with a top zipper and just one other zipper compartment. It’s small,  just 8x9x1, but holds my ipad, phone and all my other essentials.

The best tees and cardigans and jackets have pockets. Can hold your phone, your camera for easy access.

Your suitcase…definitely a carry on. You don’t want to pay the luggage fee do you? I also favor a lightweight bag that will fit over the handle of the suitcase.  Should be almost empty when you leave. Be sure the wrap you bring on the plane can be folded into this bag.

…if your travel includes changing weather, consider sending a heavier jacket ahead of you to your hotel by UPS. It will cost me $50 to send a heavier jacket to Paris…well worth it to avoid carrying it with me to steamy Venice.
